Luangwa Child Development Agency follows ChildFund’s organizational theory of change, whose core outcomes center upon children’s optimum development at each stage of their young lives. This Life Stage approach helps us tailor our interventions to the different developmental needs of children as they progress from infancy through young adulthood. In each of the three life stages, our programs aim for the healthiest development of the whole child at the center of his/her physical and social environment, and consider his/her needs, rights, and capabilities comprehensively. The Life Stage approach is based on the following age categories:
- Infants and young children: 0-5 year olds
- Children: 6-14 year olds
- Youths: 15-24 year olds
LIFE STAGE 1 (0-5 years)
Under this category, the Agency hopes to improve the health status of children by enabling communities to take charge of their own health needs. This is done by way of implementing programs that promote safe and caring environments, high quality stimulation, high quality health care and adequate nutrition
LIFE STAGE 2 (6-14 years)
Under this category, the Agency seeks to contribute to the improvement of access to/ and quality of education for the target children in Luangwa District. The Agency hopes to achieve this through implementation of programs that ensures that children & adolescents have positive relationships in supportive homes and communities, children and adolescents have age appropriate literacy, and children are healthy and actively participate in community life
LIFE STAGE 3 (15-24 years)
In this category, the Agency seeks to improve income and support to youth development and households in its program area. The Agency hopes to achieve this by implementing programs that ensures that youths become change agents in their families and communities, youths make choices for living a healthy reproductive life and ensures that youths are employment ready
