Empowering Teachers, Improving Learning Outcomes in Luangwa District.

Luangwa Child Development Agency (LCDA) recently conducted a successful training on Active Teaching and Learning Approaches in Schools (ATLAS), bringing together 28 teachers (11 male, 17 female) and 2 DEBS staff.

ChildFund Zambia Country Director, Mr. Victor Koyi, together with the Advisory Board and Luangwa Child Development Agency (LCDA), recently conducted a monitoring visit to Luangwa District.

LCDA and ChildFund Zambia Reward Top Performing Learners in Luangwa District*

On Friday, 20th March 2026, Luangwa Child Development Agency (LCDA), in partnership with ChildFund Zambia, awarded outstanding pupils from Luangwa District under its Education Programme. More than 50 pupils from Mandombe, Chankhasi, Mangelengele, and Chimtengo Primary Schools were honored as Best Performing Learners. The pupils received certificates and gifts in recognition of their academic excellence, with support from ChildFund Zambia and its partners.

*Shaping the Future: Empowering Adolescents through Debate and Awareness.*

Luangwa Child Development Agency (LCDA) is implementing the Adolescent and Young People (AYP) Project funded by UTH-HAP (Global Fund). LCDA successfully organized debate sessions at Feira Day, Luangwa, and Mwavi Secondary Schools to promote Child Protection awareness, HIV prevention, and Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights. The activity engaged Learners in thought-provoking discussions on important issues affecting young people, these include HIV prevention, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), mental health awareness and substance abuse.

LCDA donates assorted books in Nyimba District

Tuesday 10th March, 2026 was a double blessing for the pupils and the whole Nyimba Community when Luangwa Child Development Agency Executive Director Mr. Mucheleka handed over assorted books to Nyimba District Commissioner Mr Paul Daka.

LCDA participates in International Childrens Day of Broadcasting, 2026

Luangwa Child Development Agency enrolled children proudly participated in a radio program to commemorate the International Children’s Day of Broadcasting.
